Whiskeytown Lake, located 8 miles west of Redding in Northern California, stem's its name from Whiskeytown National Recreation Area and is a favored lake by locals and tourist alike. Gross Campsites at Oak Bottom - Whiskeytown National Recreation Area
Brandy Creek Beach and other attractions that have been closed since the coronavirus pandemic hit in March will open Friday at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, the park announced Thursday. Contact the Whiskeytown NRA Visitor Center for current information about closures of roads and campgrounds as a result of the Carr Fire - It is the only family campground on the shores of Whiskeytown Lake. Visitors to the campground enjoy hiking to nearby waterfalls and through old-growth forests. The lake is popular for fishing, boating, waterskiing, sailing, kayaking, and canoeing. Oak Bottom Campground is divided into 2 sections - an RV section and a tent section.
